Rheodyne Valves: Commands and Tips

In addition to the  General Device Commands, the following commands and properties are available for the Rheodyne External MSV, LabPro and MXII valves. The valve type determines which commands and properties are actually available. Please note that the display Filter level determines which commands and properties are displayed.

 

Command/Property

Description

Direction
 

(External MSV only) Defines the direction in which the valve is switched into the specified position:  Shortest (default setting), CounterClockwise, or  Clockwise.

Home
 

External MSV and LabPro: Switches the valve into position 1.  The command ignores the Direction property.

MXII Valve: Moves the valve to the Home position, then moves it back to the current position.

Position

External MSV and LabPro: The current position of the valve. The valve is switched into the specified position, in the direction set with the Direction property.

MXII Valve: The current position of the valve. If set, the valve is switched into the specified position.

Reset

Resets the valve settings to the default settings.

StepCounterClockwise

(LabPro only) Switches the valve counterclockwise to the next position.

StepClockwise

(LabPro only) Switches the valve clockwise to the next position.

Test

(External MSV and LabPro only) Tests the valve: Switches the valve into position 1, steps to all positions, and returns the valve to position 1.
